Another Step Closer

Another step closer
I finished a Diploma in Environmental Conservation on July 11, 201y, its a fancy name for an NVQ, but its all there on the CV to give me the practical skills to back up the degree I'm working towards via the Open University. I am actually glad its finished and I can get on with me OU work for a few months before college starts again in September.

In September I'll be doing an Arboriculture & Forestry Diploma, again to add practical skills to my repetroir. I'm not sure what I'll be doing when this finishes, but it will be either study for another Diploma/NVQ or looking for a job where I can develop my skills & experience, like an apprenticeship.

As for my OU work, I've almost finished my second module. The other week I switched my degree as the new one has more career relevance, though it shares the same core modules, so I'm in the same place, just working towards a BSC in Environmental Management rather than a BA/BSC Environment Studies.

OK, so a few of the later modules from the BSC dont grab my imagination as much as those from the BA, but at the end of the day I can go back and study those on their own once I've finished if I want to, and be able to get a job doing what I love in the mean time.

I'm hoping that once I've finished with the OU, and I've gained the practical countryside management skills, and the experience from volunteering for the National Trust & my local County Council I will be able to get a good job either sub contracting for varius NGO's, or as a team leader for the National parks/Forestry Commission/ NGO's/ Local Authority or private estate.

Heres hoping eh.

Fuck Yeah

Fuck Yeah

I got the results for my first University module this morning (June 10) , I got a Pass, the module doesnt offer a distinction so that was the only information available, but smegging hell I passed it. Thats 15 credits towards a 360 Credit Bachelors or Science. I am mega chuffed.
I'm currently studying another module, this one is 60 Credits, and due to start two (One 15 Credits, the other 60 credits) in September and two in the spring of 2013(One 15 Credits, the other 60 credits), thats as far as I dare plan, but that means I'll be half way to the degree by this time next year.

Its supposed to be a Part time degree which means I should spend 4 years studying to achieve what full time students get in 3, but I think if I carry on at that rate I'll get it sooner.

Sorry, it is'nt that I'm bragging, I'm just well made up. If you'd have told me while I was at school that I'd be studying for a degree, I'd have thought you were a loony.

Fed Up

Well, as you know, I'm in the process of studying for a Bsc, not the easyest thing in the world to achieve, but its getting increasingly hard.

Not only do I have to study, and it must be said, study hard, I have to carry the whole fucking house at the same time.

I live with my parents and younger sister, but I am expected to do the housework, keep the garden neet and tidy and and all the other little jobs that need doing.

If I dont, I dont get shouted at, I get sarcasm, and endless complaints addressed at the house in general, but clearly targeted at me as I'm the one that has been in the house all day.

My sister works a part time job, but is out full time hours, I have more than a sneaky suspisioon she is out so long so she does not have to do any housework.

Similarly my father, who is out 8 hours a day, yet left work years ago, I feel its because he just doesnt want to muck in.

But my mum is the worst, most of the time she is cool, but when she is even marginally upset, she has a major tantrum. I cant carry on with this. Dont get me wrong, I love them to bits, but I cant carry on with the atmospher that its creating and get the results I want from studying.

I'm thinking its time i moved out I just cant stand it with the shittyness, yet at the same time I love my folks and dont want to upset them.

Another step closer

I've just finnished a Diploma in Work Based Environmental Conservation the other day, its a fancy name for an NVQ, but its all there on the CV to give me the practical skills to back up the degree I'm working towards via the Open University. Hell Yes

Panic!!!

Well, I've heard from the social at last, and not for a good reason. Atos Healthcare, who carry out the medical assesments for the DWP sent me a medical questionair the other day, and this is normally a precursor to calling you in for a full blown medical.

This has really got me worried, as last time I had a medical I bearly scraped through, and I've had quite a bit of improvement, though still not enough to return to gainful employment(its not good when you have mood swings and a massive temper in the workplace)

I'm hoping that I can get through, but if not, watch the headlines for a masacre in the workplace!!

On a related note, I've been watching "The Fiary Job Mother" on Chanel 4, mainly as its car crash TV, but I find the woman that is running the varius job clubs to be very patronising at times, although the specimens of humanity she has to deal with on some of the programes is quite an eye opener.

Normally I dont watch this kind of muck, but its quite addictive, I can sort of understand why Big Brother and Celebrity Britains Got the latest pop factor jump start my carrier on ice has so much of a following.

Jerremy Kyle and Gok One are similar as far as I'm concerned, but someone at the gym seems intent on making me watch this tripe, as 50% of the screans are stuck on these. funnily enough, no matter how fast I run or cycle I never manage to get the the TV to turn it off, lol.

Annyway, preparations abound for my pennine way walk, I do the first 4 days worth 14 days from today. Anyway, more later.
